Revision of the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (DPA): consultations on the second stage postponed by the Political Institutions Committee of the National Council

The Political Institutions Committee of the National Council (the lower house of the Swiss Federal Parliament) has postponed the consultation on the revision of the Swiss Data Protection Act and will not deal with this Act in the current winter quarter, as originally planned. This second stage – as part of the overall revision of the Act  – will now be discussed in the first quarter of 2019. The Political Institutions Committee’s result is expected at the end of February 2019. This agenda item will then be discussed in detail in the National Council during the spring session of 2019
(4-19 March 2019).
